Tetrachlorocuprates(II) - complex compounds, chlorides with common formula Men[CuCl4], where Me is any metal.
When Me is potassium or ammonium the green compounds are actually hexacoördinate Me2[CuCl4(H2O)2].
Tetrahedrally coordinated orange compounds are only formed with large cations like Cs+ or quaternary ammonium ions. There is also a tendency to associate like in CsCuCl3, which is better described as Cs2[Cu2Cl6].
All of known tetrachlorocuprates are soluble in water.
